How Wait works

When something tempts you, put it on your shelf instead of in your basket, and pick how long it should wait. Wait reminds you when the cooling-off period is up, and you decide with a clear head. If you let it go, its price is added to your Freedom Fund — a running tally of the money that stayed yours. If you still want it, buy it guilt-free. Either answer is a win, because you decided instead of impulsing.

Common questions

Does Wait connect to my bank?

No. Wait never connects to your bank, cards or accounts, and it never holds or moves money. You add items yourself, and the Freedom Fund is simply a number that adds up what you chose not to spend.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no password. Your shelf, fund and goal are saved for you automatically so nothing is lost if your phone restarts.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings → Your data → Delete all my data in the app. This permanently erases everything on your phone and asks our servers to erase everything held for your install. See our privacy policy for the full detail.

What is Wait Plus, and how do I manage it?

Wait Plus is an optional subscription (£34.99/year, after a 7-day free trial) that unlocks unlimited shelving, your Freedom Fund and full stats. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel any time from your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Wait, or in the App Store app under your account. To restore a subscription on a new device, open the paywall in Wait and tap Restore Purchases.

I was charged and want a refund.

Purchases and refunds for App Store subscriptions are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something looks wrong, email us and we'll help you sort it.

Notifications aren't showing up.

Wait's reminders are scheduled on your device. If they've stopped, check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Waitis allowed, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding them.

Is Wait financial advice?

No. Wait is a habit app — it is not financial or debt advice. If money worries are weighing on you, free and impartial help is available from StepChange, National Debtline and MoneyHelper.
