Privacy policy

The short version

Wait works without an account. Instead of a login, each install of the app is given a random device identifier, and the things you do in the app — what you shelve, your fund, your goal — are saved to our servers under that identifier so nothing is lost if your phone restarts and so the app is reliable. We never ask for your name, we never connect to your bank, and you can permanently delete everything at any time from Settings → Your data → Delete all my data.

What we store, and why

Reflexed (the maker of Wait) is the data controller for the following, stored against your device identifier:

Photos stay on your phone. Any image you attach to an item or a goal is stored only on your device and is never uploaded.

Lawful basis (UK GDPR): we process this data under legitimate interests — to provide the core function of the app you chose to use. It is used only to run Wait for you. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and there is no third-party analytics or tracking SDK in the app.

Deleting your data

Open Settings → Your data → Delete all my data. This erases everything on your phone and asks our servers to erase everything held under your device identifier. Because there is no account, this is the complete and immediate way to exercise your right to erasure. Deleting the app also removes the on-device copy; email us (below) if you want the server copy removed and can no longer open the app.

Retention

If an install goes unused, we automatically delete the data held under its device identifier after 24 months of inactivity.

The waitlist (this website)

If you joined the waitlist on this site, we store the email address you gave us and use it only to tell you about Wait's launch. Email hello@reflexed.co.uk to be removed at any time.

Notifications

Reminders and “still want it?” prompts are scheduled locally on your device, not sent from a server.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. The in-app delete covers erasure directly; for anything else, email hello@reflexed.co.uk. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Not financial advice

Wait is a habit app. It is not financial or debt advice, it never holds or moves money, and it never connects to your bank. If money is getting heavy, free impartial help is available from StepChange, National Debtline and MoneyHelper.
